Here there are options for everyone, from a walk following the Rivera del Río Jalpan or entering the Cueva del Puente de Dios (in the community of Río Adentro, Jalpan) it shows you the balance of nature in all its splendor.

Each corner of the Sierra Gorda offers you a different panorama, so each time you visit the region you will be able to discover something different.

Mountain Cycling

Venture out on the mountain bike trails, in Jalpan you will find various routes for beginners or if you prefer, try more rugged trails that will be a challenge.

For years Jalpan has hosted MTB events that include the four northern municipalities of the Sierra Gorda in their route.

Suggested routes:

·   Jalpan Dam y Puente de Dios Cave
· Old road to Tancama until reaching Landa de Matamoros, a three-day route

Bird watching

If you like to enjoy nature by watching the birds that inhabit the Sierra Gorda, we recommend you take a tour of the Rivera del Río Jalpan and of course the Jalpan Dam that in 2004 entered the list of Ramsar Sites, recognition granted to the wetlands that have a significant population of birds and receive migratory birds.

In the facilities of the eco-lodges they offer bird watching tours since each of them is strategically located in an ideal place for the observation of flora and fauna, sidereal observation and hiking so you can spend up to a week in them without going twice the same trail.

Boat and Kayak Rental

In addition to being an ideal place for bird watching, the Jalpan dam is also a space to practice competitive fishing, you can also use the services of the work groups that are in the Mundo Acuático Park: within them you can buy fresh fish, which you can easily prepare in the park facilities or ask to be prepared in the cafeteria that is there. You can also choose to rent boats or kayaks we are sure that you will spend a pleasant afternoon since it is possible to enter the dam and observe birds looking for space in the most remote and silent places of this reservoir.

Caves and Grottoes
Bridge of God Cave

It is a space of incomparable natural beauty, it is located 7 kilometers from the head of the Municipal and is accessed by following the bank of the Jalpan Dam, at the end of spring you can see a great show of bats that come out in the mornings and afternoons, to go at that time it must be considered that there is a bad smell, so it is advisable not to go too close, since you will not be able to access the cave.

Water cave

Near the town of Valle Verde a cave is located in which the light allows us to see an interior rich in stalactites and stalagmites, it is called the water cave because it has small dams inside.

To get to the place it is necessary to hire a mountain guide in the town of Valle Verde, the tour lasts approximately 30 minutes by walking.
